Shashidar Dasappa is the Uncut Project's Compassion Child
Compassion International exists as a Christian child advocacy ministry that releases children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enables them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults.
Founded by the Rev. Everett Swanson in 1952, Compassion began providing Korean War orphans with food, shelter, education and health care, as well as Christian training. Today, Compassion helps more than 1 million children in 25 countries.
The Uncut Project's sponsership of Shashidar provides for him in a multitude of ways, including but not exclusive to:
- Ongoing Christian training
- Educational opportunities
- Treatment & training to maintain health
- Development of self-confidence & social skills
- Key life skills & vocational programs
Each week, the money given by you in the coffee and cakes collection pot goes towards Shashidar's sponsership, it really is amazing to think that a small gift each week can make such a massive difference to the lives of children around the world.
About Shashidar:
*Shashidar, or as he is affectionately referred to as, Shashi - 8 Years Old - India*
Recent communication from Shashidar:
Beloved Sponsors, Greeting to you in the name of our loving Lord Jesus. Hope you are keeping fine and healthy.
Here Shashidar and everyone in his home are also fine and o.k. by the grace of God.
Shashidar is very much thankful to you for providing him uniform, books, shoes and a school bag. He is interested in learning songs, stories and bible verses.
Recently we celebrated our 62nd independance day on the 15th of August. Shashidar will be having his first semister exams in the final week of October, thereafter he gets mid-term holidays! We are planning to conduct many programmes for the children. Shashidar remembers you in his prayers and requests that you pray for him and his family. He passes his loving regards to you.
How can I support Shashidar?:
- Pray for him and his family!
- Give a contribution to his sponsership either via the hot chocolate and cakes collection plate, or directly to Harry Steele.
- Give Harry or Zoey Steele a letter for Shashidar, this will be passed on and translated and you will probably get a personal reply!
- Talk to Caz Rattigan and offer to make, or serve hot chocolate and cake at the anvil.
